Kid’s Dental Checkups & Cleanings

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, as well as the American Dental Association, recommend taking your child in for their first dental visit by the age of one. These early visits will likely be more focused on building a positive relationship with the dental office. We’ll show them all of the neat instruments we will use at their future cleanings and help parents navigate brushing and flossing. Once they get older, we’ll graduate to routine checkups and cleanings, making sure that any lingering oral health concerns are caught and treated,  ensuring their grin is developing correctly.

Silver Diamine Fluoride

Silver diamine fluoride is an FDA-cleared treatment that is specially designed to treat and prevent and stop cavities, as well as ease tooth sensitivity. It’s a non-invasive process that only requires brushing a small amount of clear silver diamine fluoride liquid onto the problem portion of the tooth. Once applied, it will kill bacteria as well as help remineralize enamel, protecting it from future cavity threats.

Dental Sealants

Because your child is still learning how to properly brush and floss their teeth, extra protection against cavities is a necessity. Dental sealants are white coatings that we can brush over the top of their molars, preventing food and plaque from accumulating in the tooth’s pits and grooves. The smooth sealants will also make brushing much more effective, allowing your child to easily rinse and clear away cavity-causing debris.

Athletic Mouthguards / Sportsguards

Does your child participate on their local or school’s sports team? Keep their smile out of harm’s way with a sportsguard. These are custom-made to perfectly fit their mouth, allowing them to breathe with ease as they run and jump across the field and court. Plus, a durable and cushioning mouthguard will provide you with peace of mind that the game won’t end with an unexpected trip to the emergency dentist!
